About CharterScorecard

Choosing a charter school is a high-stakes decision made with weirdly thin information: a school website, a neighbor's opinion, maybe a rating whose formula nobody will show you. CharterScorecard exists to fix that. We put every charter school in America in one searchable directory, grade them from official state data with a methodology anyone can check, and write plainly about how charters actually work, including the homeschool and independent-study charters that fund home education in California and beyond.

Who runs this site

CharterScorecard is operated by Dang Solutions LLC. Real Science-4-Kids, a K-8 science curriculum publisher, is a featured partner, and its listing in our vendor directory is marked Featured. Partners have no influence on school grades, rankings, or editorial coverage, and listings in the directory cannot be purchased.

How we handle accuracy

Directory data comes from the federal school directory and shows its data year; it can lag reality by a school year, which is the honest cost of using official sources. Grades cite the exact state files they are computed from. If something about your school is wrong, request a correction and we will check it against the source.
